For many years, a dot painting was on my to-do-list.
This is my first dot painting ever and I loved doing it. It was very relaxing to jot down those dots.

Were you inspired by neo-impressionism? A lot of artists used dots instead of strokes back then. If not, and you d'like to make next dotted work, maybe you could try to mix colors in their manner? http://de.wahooart.com/a55a04/w.nsf/3e75729998cde7c6c1256dd20064bdfa/3fc83baf4dc34443c125769800682488/$FILE/Paul%20Signac%20-%20The%20Port%20of%20Saint-Tropez%20.JPG
Thanks for the idea! :)
And to answer your question: Actually, I was inspired by Aboriginal-like dot paintings. every now and then I come across it in shops. I like their simplicity and use of colours and wanted to try it out myself. The result however, is nothing like the Aboriginals of course.
