**NOTE- You can check my FA Journal as well to see more info on Casey**
Well, just wanted to give an update on Casey. AND to thank EVERY well wisher, every note, kind word and thoughts that have been sent to Casey. Also to thank for any donations, I am truly touched and it all helps, thank you so so so much!!
She has Hepatic Lipidosis (Fattly Liver Syndrome). Basically the cat wil stop eating and then well, that hurts them more and attacks their liver, very bad thing. The goal now is to with the feeding tube get her to start eating again, at first with the tube until she is better enough to eat on her own.
Well, you can see her little pink neck wrap and feeding tube. I feed her every 6 hours with some medicines every 12, and she also is getting some fluids under the skin. I was giving shots of anti-nausea medication as well, but looks like those are all done finally. She is lil out of it just due to the sedative effects of some of the medicines but overall she is MUCH better than last week and purring and rubbing her head against me as I feed her. Note the lil drool there, she does that as she gets fed sometimes, heh.
The Doctors and nurses at my animal hospital all fell in love with her and are doing all they can to advise me and regular weekly checkups. They have been really great. I have done more first aid/injections/pill feeding/tube feeding than I ever have in my life and hope it will all be over soon.
She will in time get stronger and start wanting to eat on her own and then lose the tube. Thank you all so much for all your kindness and generosity!! I will keep you all updated. ^_^ Casey says "MRRF"
Today we go in for a weekly check up, wish her luck!!

Such a beautiful angel... She certainly does look better than how she was described in the past, so I'm glad to hear she's much more active and affectionate prior to this. You know I'll send another donation to help it keep going until your baby is all fixed up and the bill is no longer existing.
I'm also happy to know that the medical staff loves her so much. That only helps make it a much more comfortable experience for her. I'll continue to pray over you both.

I'm glad to hear shes doing better, she looks like a real sweet li'l kitty and as someone who has always had a cat in the house (even if usually they're not 'mine' x3) I know how it feels when they get sick. You've got plenty of hope and well-wishing coming from my way. And if I can scrounge up any cash I'll be sure to make a donation to help out too.
I wish I could give you more than sympathy and moral support and well wishes. I've lost two to tragic and sudden illness myself so I know how scarey the possibility can be. I'm so very happy to see things are turning around for the better for you and Casey tho!
If you want someone to talk to, I know you don't have any reason to accept my offer, but you can contact me and hopefully I can lend you some extra council.
Here's hoping for her swift and complete recovery!
I'm so glad that she's doing better. I was really wanting to help out as well, but, am still waiting on a check to come in... stupid government... If nothing else, you are both in my thoughts. She's a beautiful girl and torties/calicos tend to be stubborn, so, that helps. *HUGS* (to the both of you)
Oh Gideon, I am so happy she seem to be doing better. I know what its like to be in this situation, and its heartbreaking. But I am so glad she seems to be making a good recovery, and I am so glad I was able to help a little. I wish you and her the best possible recovery for her.
WOW. you're the only other person i've seen that's had to do this to their cat! our obese cat, Lucy, had to have the same thing done... as well as have 16 teeth removed (sore teeth made her stop eating, her skin turned yellow.... and voila).
best of luck, my prayers are with you.
