This is a Camelback, it has the driving cap perched ontop, in the center of the boiler, like a camel's hump. I dunno why they invented such types of engines, I can't see any benefits of having the cap ontop in the middle, it just seems one of those strange designed.
Its also hauling a very unconventional train of British stock. Well the stuff needed to be moved so this engine was called upon for the duty. He's a very cute looking engine I think. :3 And he does a good job, tho some of the other engines bully him for looking odd. They will be dealt with personally by me >:c

The camelback style engine was invented to accommodate a larger firebox, known as a Wootten. Most locomotive fireboxes at that time sat between the frames of the engine, and as a result were VERY narrow. It was designed to burn coal waste known as culm, hence the larger firebox. This allowed for a free-steaming, powerful locomotive that ran on cheap fuel that burned almost smokelessly. In the eyes of the designers, the placement of the crew and the cab was pretty much inconsequential.
