This Kavarian is one of the breeders of the pack. Shes a harem girl, but despite her pack rank, the harem Kavarians live a lush and ravishing lifestyle. Often found wearing silks and golds and treated like royalty. When they are not breeding, these Kavarians relax in luxurious custom rooms.
Species: Kavarian
(Kay-Var-ee-yan)
Overview
The Kavarian species comes from the Canine bloodlines. A pack-orientated creature, the Kavarian care greatly for each other and if threatened, can be quite a deadly creature. To help in combat as well as digging into their habitat (caves), the Kavarian have uniquely heavy tails that weigh approximately 150 lbs, with some of the larger sized Kavarian’s tails reaching close to 200 pounds. Typically, a Kavarian is born with three tails that grow through adolescence. Another unique characteristic of the Kavarian is their gems. These gems provide great pride to each of the Kavarians, which come in a variety of colors that will be explained later.
Personality
The Kavarian species are a very caring species when within their own species. That being, their pack mentality is strong. As far as outsiders come, they are very untrustworthy and hostile to outsiders. However, if the outsiders prove themselves worthy, they will be accepted among the Kavarians and will be treated as one of their own. This process does not come easy, that is, if they survive long enough to plead their case.
Habitat
Kavarian’s are a cave dwelling species. One unique trait is the gem that also glows on their forehead. Being that they are in the darkness, their gems illuminate light that help light them through the tunnels they create. To help burrow into each of their homes, they use their heavy tails as a mallet to bash away the rocks, creating their own homes and nests.
Early life
Kavarian’s are born the natural way between a male and a female. As a youngling, they follow their parents around trying to learn their parents position within the pack. However, just because the parent’s have one position within the pack doesn’t necessarily mean the child will have the same one. Kavarian’s are born with thick bone covering their gems on their back, tails, and forehead. The bone covering the gems both protect them and to conceal what their true position within the pack is meant to be. These remain on their body until Gem Day.
Gem Day
Gem Day is the right of passage for the Kavarian species. This would be similar to a Bar Mitzvah or a Graduation. During the adolescent years, on a Kavarian’s 4th birthday, the male or female must participate in their respective Gem Day. During the Gem day, the Kavarian must test with each of 8 different jobs within their pack. At the conclusion of each of the tests, the Kavarian whacks their tail on a large gemstone that represents each of the jobs (i.e A huge Green Gem for Shamans, a huge Red Gem for Warriors, ect ect.) If the bone falls off, it will reveal the color of the gem on their body. If the bone stays on, the Kavarian must test with a different profession to discover what they were truly meant to do. The Kavarian can choose not to follow their path by trying a profession with a different group, however this creates a couple of different drawbacks. For starters, it is considered a huge snub to the pack to turn your back on your destiny (I.e., gem color). Secondarily, it is extremely difficult to get into a different profession within the pack due to bias as well as challenging feats to perform their tests.
Strengths
The Kavarians are very strong creatures. Combined with their nearly unbreakable gems and their massively heavy tails, the Kavarian is not a creature most other species can stand to go toe to toe with. They are also very good about navigating dark spaces from their gem-lit paths emitting from their forehead. Also, due to their pack tendencies, the Kavarians usually travel in groups. If an outsider were to get cornered by them, they would barely stand a chance.
Weaknesses
Due to their stocky and strong nature, the Kavarian is not a very swift creature. They lack speed and mobility to get away from an ambush or an attacker if caught alone. They also have ceceptibale underbellies. Another weakness for them is that within their pack they are very trustworthy and can be easily deceived by other pack mates.
Professions within the Pack (with Gemstone Color)
Yellow: The Yellow gemstone represents the hunters of the pack. These Kavarians are responsible for the food of the pack and making sure the herds stay plentiful around them, and even relocating if necessary to survival. These Kavarians are typically swifter than average.
Red: The Red gemstone represents the warriors of the pack. These Kavarians are responsible for protecting the pack against outsiders as well as fighting in wars for their territory if necessary. These Kavarians are the muscle of the pack.
Green: The Green gemstone represents the shamans of the pack. These Kavarians are responsible for healing the sick or injured in the pack. These Kavarians have knowledge of herbs and healing skills in the pack.
Pink: The Pink gemstone represents the caregivers of the pack. These Kavarians are responsible for caring for the young while the parents are away with their other jobs. They also help with the pregnancy and birthing of the pups. These Kavarians have a very persuasive personality.
Blue: The Blue gemstone represents the scouts of the pack. These Kavarians are responsible for keeping the borders secure as well as having an idea of the general layout of the land. During times of war, these Kavarians are also responsible for spying upon the enemy. These Kavarians are experts in stealth.
Grey/Silver: The Grey gemstone represents the blacksmiths of the pack. These Kavarians are responsible for constructing both the armor and weapons of the pack for the warriors. These Kavarians are strong and they are very wise when working with metal.
White (Rare): The White gemstones represent the elders of the pack. Although the name suggests they are older, any age of Kavarian can be an elder. These Kavarians are wise, and can perform any function of the pack and can also dabble in some light mage work. These Kavarians are rare, and are only seen once or twice in several generations.
Black (Rare): The Black gemstones represent the necromancers of the pack. These Kavarians are generally outcasts of the pack due to their unique abilities and general dark attitude. Similar to the Elders, these Kavarians dabble in black magic and can communicate with the dead. These Kavarians are as rare as Elders, and have trouble fitting in the pack.
