It looks like it gets more and more beyond poor WW5's control.... two steps forward and three steps back...
I do like how the Elfhame bucks fail to bat an eyelid at the presence of a wyvern in their vale. Far more interested in building design and decoration for said wyvern's shelter. Said wyvern may have been thinking her decision to come the the vale and seek out WW5 may have been a bad one as winter sets in. That said, after she has found that the Winterbough she now has can become a wyvern, it seems her more primal side has come out to play and it does not know the meaning of discretion.
Six to Five, eh? The more cynical would think that literally means half of the Eldest knew he'd be horrified and thought it'd be funny to see his shock and half thought he'd likely enjoy it and wanted to stop the fun... as for the tie breaker, her motivations are likely very different and far deeper than the [Star-Mirror].

Poor WW. One wonders if he'll end up with dragon-kits as well as fawns, at this rate.
I'm trying to figure out the vote - did Anastasia go last and break a tie caused by half of the other does respecting her prerogatives? Or did she carry the day by voting first and getting five others to figure it was her business and agree if she wanted to let him do it?

"When I related the story I called "Dulce Domum," episode "F," I noted that there were ten does listed as the Eldest, with one vacancy, which was subsequently filled by Anastasia, making 11 on the Eldest overall. So none of the Eldest abstained in the vote."
"As for which side she voted on, and how the vote was divided, I wouldn't dare ask any of the does, let alone the Eldest -- you'll note she volunteered her vote. Questioning them on that point is the quickest way to getting a painful and red ear that I know of. My own view is that one of the "no" votes was probably Mrs. Fletcher, who never liked me much, and probably felt that giving me an inch would lead to the end of Faerie as everyone knew it. Sour-muzzled old bat."
"Don't tell her I said that."
