I've got a very good theory about how this went down. Though I'm not sure if someone else has put this out there, because fuck reading all these comments.
See, what happened is that some unfortunate person made a "full tour" through a Yoshi, so were trapped in an egg. Now, BunnyJoel here thinks that Easter having just passed, someone must've left an egg behind, and knowing that bunnies and eggs are a thing for the holiday, maybe BunnyJoel thought he was supposed to "hold onto it" till next year, thinking it was just a normal egg. o3o
Or something. I don't know.
