A wading bird of North and Central America, the Great Blue Heron appears as a all white variant in the Caribbean and Florida. Though they have few natural predators, they are actively attacked by bald eagles with whom they often fight back with their dagger-like beak. Their croaking call is distinct and can be heard throughout breeding season.
