Ah, we see exactly why Windimere has been willing to suffer the cold of Elfhame. The loneliness that has been a large part of her life is a sufficient force to make such discomfort worthwhile to be able to spend time with one who 'understands' her, even while he did not understand her speech.
Twill be interesting to hear the explanation for the assurance of a lack of knowledge of Windimere's language by the Eldest which has now been disproven.
