For the first time ever I'm getting a proper desk for my room! I made this for my dad because he's out right now getting the wood we need to build this thing. I'm really excited, I've wanted a desk for so long, I've spent years with a keyboard in my lap and a mouse on my armrest, while sitting in a char that just destroys my back.

On the left are all the measurements and on the right is a quick concept sketch I made up. Turns out that Photoshop is a great tool for this sort of thing.
It's going to made out of pine, not only because it's the cheapest, but I thought it looked the best when we went and checked out different hardwoods.
In the picture the main desk area is all one piece and in a perfect world it would be, but there would be no way it would fit in my room. (Unless the legs were removable, hmmmmm)
Also those probably aren't what the legs will look like, I just kind of threw those on there for the concept.
I'm a little worried by the support on the keyboard area, but we can probably figure out something, also the keyboard tray might be moved slightly under the main desk area, but I really like it completely out in front of it like that.
