There are always so many different ways of how artworks can be done and I feel always amazed and inspired by what people can create with all sorts of styles and tools. While I am always quite the type who gets drawn in by colors a monochrome styled artwork can bring a calm beauty with it and shines through how it wakes the imagination and the notion for the little details.
I feel really lucky still, trinity, and think you did a stunning and lovely drawing of Shiny here. The linework, expressions and also the extranice paper you used for this one make it look even more special. And you managed the different tones so well, too. I can imagine it takes a lot of practice to get used to how set the shading with all the sorts of markers and other pencils in such a drawing. But you are really good with bringing out the details from reflections to the darker shadows to all sorts of softer and more rougher aspects.
Like said before, the pose and expression look absolutely sweet. An adorable lil guy with a big big flower to show his appreciation. His friendly round cheeks, the honest shining eyes and that embrace of the flower like something very precious make it all look like even more wonderful.
I also think you chose a really nice shape for the flower. I am no expert but my closest guess would be that it is a cosmea. In SHiny's case a chocolate cosmea with darkred-brown petals would surely seem fitting really well since the flower stands for happiness in love and life and the lil Totodile loves to share his happiness with everybody always. X3
