Judging from some of the comments, I think the events of today's episode have been foreseen, but for all of that (and I don't mind it a jot), they weren't expected by the Master of Elfhame, who does feel at some level that his mate is at least five steps ahead of him. Certainly, the does of Elfhame appear to be very skilled at making deals...
Continuing the story set in the world of Faerie created by
tegerio, which reminds me that I must refer to a Crown-owned resort in the North Country, somewhere to the east of Elfhame. Fascinating place, he described it to me yesterday.

As has been mentioned many times before, The Master may have inherited much of what made the Third of his name infamous but one thing he has not inherited is the will to exercise it. I can only feel for the lad when his mate, for whom he would do almost anything, gives him the order to be seen to exercise it.... no chance to keep his head straight after that... and then the conversation ends with a confirmation of her literal stamp of exclusive ownership of him, a comparison to show the esteem she holds him in... and then a final veiled remark that could be taken in so many ways that he is left dumbfounded...
Many would envy him the task given to him... but those who think like him would understand the discombobulation this engenders.

So she's got plans, does she, that the Empire would want to interfere with? Interesting.
Of course, we know the Empire is doomed, as the Barriers come up and disrupt communications and logistics, but... is she planning a Free Elfhame here, ahead of time? Or something different?
And the Treasure? It's an egg, of course.

Nobility has its privileges, it seems, including in negotiating relationships. Anastasia trusts her judgement of the nature of the family she has built and acquired, and that includes her understanding of the personal & primary loyalty she has from Westersloe. ("Elves don't lie")
Given the backstory of the individuals and circumstances, this actually feels very wise. I suspect that Westersloe has also been given advance notice that she trusts his judgement in discreetly using his skills (when wise) to enhance the performance and cohesion of their extended 'family'.
("...And so, much Fan Fiction did occur.") [SFX: Knuckles massaging heads]
