i think every gem's weapon is different. like no two gems have similar powers. garnet amethyst pearl steven lapis lazuli and jasper all had incredibly different powers. and seeing as steven has a shield i don't think another gem would. i mean look at how jasper reacted to it being a shield when steven used it thats my theory. but still nice oc bluuuuuue
they havent revealed much about that battle but what i think it is, is that they can forge weapons too. cause when a gem dies. the weapon that is apart of them vanishes too. plus if you add the lore of the steven universe game 'attack the light' there is a gem weapon that can summon thousands of 'light creatures' that serve the gem that holds it
