HEY GUYS, I need your help!
As stated above, I am looking for your fish characters! Why? To cameo them in my next few posts, that’s why!
That’s right, I am going to be doing 7 to 8 sets of posts on Tumblr that are in dire need of several background fish. I have come up with a few myself but I thought this would be a great opportunity to draw other peoples’ characters as well!
To participate, feel free to submit to this blog (http://askthecalifornianflyfish.tumblr.com/), reblog this post (http://askthecalifornianflyfish.tum.....ted-above-i-am), or post here on FA with your reference! And don’t worry about your reference being in line with the movie’s style. Go for it if you want but I can also try to figure it out if you don’t want to. C:
Don’t have a fish character but want to be involved? It’s perfectly fine to make a character just for this! They don’t have to already exist.
Now there are rules to this.
RULES:
1.) Your fish character can NOT have hair. Fly and Stella get away with it because they go from human to fish, not fish to human. On that note, keep in mind that in these posts, your fish drank some of the potion in the first movie during Joe’s reign.
2.) Try to stick to species of fish that are in the Pacific Ocean, specifically close to California. I am willing to be lenient if they’re apart of a made-up species, are farther out in the Pacific, or look generally nonspecific. Please make sure you let me know what kind of fish they are! Also no crazy colors, accessories, or patterns please. If the species you picked has crazy stripes or something, find a way to simplify them. And if they accessorize, make sure it’s with something that can be found underwater (2 add-ons per fish max).
3.) You can throw more than one character at me. I don’t expect many people to participate so the more the merrier! Even a handful of characters from a couple people would be awesome! Hopefully we’ll get more though.
4.) Try not to pick monster fish. We’re talking, like, 6 foot fish or something. The kind I need have to be relatively small (8 inches to maybe a foot or two long). But if you really want to make something like a swordfish, just make sure they’re a very young swordfish, something that can easily mingle with Fly and friends. However, young fish in general are highly encouraged.
5.) Please don’t make a character that’s the same species as Fly, Chuck, Stella, or Sasha.
6.) No sharks or mammals. Small mantas might be ok though.
7.) Please draw your references. They don’t have to be fancy or need several angles (unless they’re asymmetrical in some way) but don’t link me to pictures of the actual animal and then tell me the details of your character. A small description of them is recommended but not necessary.
I think that’s it… If there are any more I will make an update.
SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT.
