Page three Luterconchyli (otter with shell) hatchling.
Part of page 2 of the reference of a fictional species Luterconchyli. It's a combo of my sweetheart favorite animals, turtles and river otters. In order to make this critter work I figure I would go with the sort of egg laying mammals, the monotreme.I am very happy how this illustration of a hatching.Like platypus and echidnas, they lay leathery eggs like lizards. However the egg laying mammals does not have as much of a yolk sac inside with the embryo. So when the hatching feed on mother milk.
