I feel your pain. Ouch. That sucks -- come on Apple, you should know better. Does it at least have the SSD drive that comes with newer mac models? Maybe you could try increasing the virtual memory, if this is the case as SSDs might be fast enough to extra weight... otherwise, yeah.
