This is an update on my current Avatar Im working on, The 101st Airborne Timberwolf.
This one has more expressions then any of my previous Avatars, and I went to town with the Gear. Its almost done, so It'll be popping up at my shop shortly.

I would defenatly play SL more if they had a more advanced form of modeling. the system itself is painfuly crude considering the entier structure of it is based off of modeling with primitives. As a student of 3d Production I would love something that gave users the option of building with polygons and editing externaly. eh, just shows how frustrated i get with the process inside of SL. the most i can do with prims is build architecture. I'de really like to make my own avatar but I get hung up on working with the prims to build a complex shapes, I'm mostly used to starting off with them and filling in the gaps with faces not with more prims you see less than 70% of and thats where i struggle mostly because I've been trained not to use shapes like that.
all in all, in reference to the game only, I'm extreamly impressed with avatars. however it pains me to see people putting so much time into these projects which can't be used in any other aplication or form other than SL.

Yeah, I was annoyed with the Primitive bui8lding system as well at first, But After a few days, You start to understand it a bit better. I Think that working with Prims in SL has actually made me a better modeller. Because you learn How to use more simple shapes to create complex ones, and How to convey detail with only a handful of tools.
Afterall, a Good modeller isnt the one who can use 1 million polygons and make a detailed character. The Good modeller is the one who can do the same with only a couple thousand polygons.

Oh, I know. Ive been working with Maya for years now. working in SL is a nice break from Maya and ZBrush. Although I plan out my models in Maya before I start working on them in SL. Manipulating objects in Maya is easier then in SL, so I can cut down the time it takes me to experiment with how shapes will look together.
As it is a pity, that I have no opportunity to play in this game! I could make something similar (the truth all characters would have long legs with trousers which above narrow, and below very wide: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/161647/). It is possible to ask you as long you create models?
I could probibly do more if i figured out where to find those pose boxes ( to buy ) so my model will stay still.
I haven't found any place in SL to hang out mostly because I haven't had enough time recently to actualy load it up ^^; I was thinking I could join an army i just need to find one.
