Too bad the thousand sons are the only marines (besides my own chapter I made as my army), as either traitor or loyalist, eitherwise I really don't care about GW's other official armies >.> :P They're kinda annoying to me, that and some of them get too much love, or really, all of them get too much love except these guys.
the compression kinda messed with the quality a bit.
the breaks in the tubes seem to have an issue with depth in certain places, but overall the shapes and colours seem pretty solid.
A little harder specular light at the edges (the parts of the armor facing the light source) would probably let the image pop more.

Yeah, I prolly should have resized to exactly 1280 x 1280, original file is only 1440 x 1440.
I still need to learn how proper lighting works, I still don't exactly get it, but i still try anyway.
Only thing I really couldn't get proper was the glow from the self light sources of the gems and eye panels, the green definitely was a tad bit difficult to get me thinks, but then again i'm also working with a new coloring style, or a way to color, dunno if its proper, I'll explain it to you to see if you think its proper or not.
Make a background first a monotone color, then add your details for the background, then add dark gray all over the area only for the character you wish to color, and then you color over it with a standard brush at about...30% opacity? Coloring from darker to bright as you go on, Either way thats how I did it, this was the....3rd picture I tried using it.

No, Mk. IV is too short personally too, its pretty much flat, since there was two variants of them, one was completely flat going down with the trend of like hte makr 2 and 3 helmet. and one that went out a bit like the mark 5 and 7. You'd either have to come up with a complete new design or go helmetless which i think is better anyway. :P
How the mighty have fallen.
And isn't it ironic that those sons of Magnus that stayed loyal to the Emperor through the Horus Heresy, those to whom he bequeathed the Beacon Psykana, stand suspected of heresy? That should their history become known, their loyalty will likely be ignored, presumed guilty by association and be purged accordingly?

Its how it always worked. Even with the Sons of Horus the Luna Wolves, the captain of the Scout Company was still loyal to the end, only finding himself utterly decimated by viral bombings with the world being killed off by his own brethren.
Funny thing is. Ahriman and his small cult themselves, aren't exactly followers of chaos either. Despite being considered chaos, they don't show their loyalty to chaos or any of the Gods, aka Tzeentch like they should. Questioning, are they still plausibly still loyal in their own ways? :P its sorta nice to know the back stories.

It would be a terrible shame if it came to that. The Blood Ravens are some of the only people in the Imperium who appreciate the power of knowledge and scholarship.
Ah yes, Ahriman. Seeking power for himself alone, loyal only to himself in his quest for ultimate knowledge. But then, my understanding is that many Chaos champions and sorcerers follow this path.
And yeah, the back stories are my favorite part of WH40K.
