I still want a nikatak as a pet. It would probably like these Ohio winters and I would not have to knit sweaters for it. They always reminded me of polar bears. I've heard polar bears have so much thick fur and blubber that they can sometimes overheat even in the middle of winter. Is this also true for nikataks?
ahahaha why not have one for a best friend instead! much easier, because then they feed themselves and don't eat all your food.
nikitaks don't overheat mid-winter, but they do overheat in warm climates! they need to work hard to stay hydrated and keep cool. most of the time spaceships have air conditioning on full blast for nikitaks. humans will find it chilly, but most other species will do okay.
