Okay, first things first I *did not* draw this piece of artwork, it was a commission that I had done by the most excellent Lady Silver-cat.
Since people were expressing some interest in my novel that I've been saying that I was working on I figured I would post this after obtaining the artist's permission. You can see more of her sketches and work here, she's really good http://ladysilvercat.blogspot.com/
Now, as for the story behind the picture. The brown Fox's name is Vexx Iseid, Brew Master to the merchant Lord Taberal. He is a talented brewer who Taberal took into his employ and the estate moved to the outskirts of the Canine's capital, Al Khavve. He has served happily and loyally for many years but things started to change when the heir for the throne, Jalkas, was announced.
The first time Vexx saw him he immediately formed a huge crush on the black Wolf, admiring him for his kindness to the servants and cheerful demeanor. His master didn't seem to like Jalkas, which always confused the Fox. Later on in the story he is forced to make a painful decision, choosing between Jalkas and Taberal for his loyalty and his decision changes his life forever.
Don't want to be spoiling the entire story so I'm being vague on purpose ;3 The Wolf in the back is meant to be a dreamy, majestic vision of Jalkas.

This drawing was how I finally figured out that I had the wrong one pegged as the Brewmaster. This commission is seriously awesome. Whatever you paid Lady Silver-cat, it you definately got your money's worth, and then some. It perfectly captures the essence of someone dreaming about someone else. The way Jalkas's head seems to be compounded of wind and shapes in the clouds is just magnificent. Seeing this drawing, it just wets my appitite, even more. Of course, it helps that this is a feeling I'm very familiar with. You could easily switch out your characters with Chris and Goldie, and the drawing would lose utterly none of it's meaning.
*nods* She did it perfectly the way I envisioned it, and honestly I didn't pay much at all for it, just had to wait awhile for her to get through other commissions and with her being a teacher lots of her time is taken up. Not to mention that furries are not actually her forte and it took her a bit longer to visual. I just love what she does with copic marker, though <3 Also thank you for the fave, I'm glad it was able to start a chord with you ^^

Unfortunately the only part of this that belongs to me are the characters, I did not draw the picture.
