It may have represented the Heart Chakra, but our dear 5XG was given assignment to work for the Rage and Aggression of Yellow Diamond in Era-2: an Era of their Empire that was bereft of the Compassion and Love of Pink Diamond. Fortunately one of the descendants and inheritors of Pink Diamonds' will was able to introduce Peridot to these Emotions and have her grow both as a character and as an individual living being.
Theory
White Diamond sought to attain what she thought of as "Perfection" by severing herself from all of her Emotions entirely, stripping herself bare of everything and sealing her Emotions into Vessels that would house them. These Vessels were made to be unbreakable and powerful, and to keep them from being used against her, had them animated and given sentience and an overwhelming drive to serve her. The first Vessel she made would contain her Rage and Aggression, these were counterproductive and served no purpose to further oneself other than hollow victories. The second Vessel was designed to hold Whites' Empathy and Reason, she cared not to hear or understand her own opinions by others, she was a Diamond; the perfect Gem in the entire universe, and she cared little else about others around her. The last Vessel she made was created to be relatively small, this was because it would not need to be as big as the other two since the Emotions it would house were the very last traces of Emotion still within White Diamond: Compassion and Love, Emotions that were definitely counterproductive to the machinations of the Empire as a whole in its endless expanse across the cosmos as is their devine right to rule everything.
This is how the Diamond Authority came to be created, and why Pink Diamond wanted to have no part of any of it when she escaped from the shadows of White Diamond to evolve and become something more than the stagnant "Perfect" Gem that cared for nothing more than blind fealty to her will. Compassion and Love are key emotional components towards personal growth and evolution of one's self. While Rage and Aggression can advance a cause, and Reason and Empathy can be understanding; without something meaningful and worthwhile to go for, nothing can really change.
