How I Spent My Day at the Circus
Mascots4Kids Event - Furry Circus School 2015
NOTE: This submission also serves to let you know that I've posted all the best-of-the-best photos from the fur-meet on my photography account,
, so if you haven't done it already, go check them all out now!
LEO: KUMBAYA, MAH LORD!
FLOW: Yay, Leo!
TIEN LONG: Gimme back my drinks, you cretin!
Once our time at the Big Top Circus School was finally over, we headed on over to eat dinner at Swiss Chalet which wasn't too far away from the circus school.
While all of us waited to have our meals delivered to us, the staff offered us some free paper and crayons to draw with. As we passed around the paper and crayons,
told everybody to draw a moment they remember most from the circus school or what they enjoyed most the whole day there. We all felt like kindergarteners, but was fun to do it!
For me, the most prominent moment was me flying through the air before landing on my heels hard. But I didn't want to draw such a painful moment; I like to draw fun stuff, so I decided to draw my fursona flying through the air while supported by the ropes. I didn't even care if it was half-assed; it was a fun drawing, and we were using crayons y'know!
And just for a lark, I had Leo holding two of
's bottles of sake. Flow laughed and said that my drawing looked so adorable, and we both showed Ronnie (a.k.a.
; a.k.a. Tien Long). When he saw how I drew his dragon god fursona, his reaction said it all. But despite his initial reaction, he said that out of everyone's quick depictions of him, mine was the best even though I didn't initially add on his "fish fins" on the sides of his face (apparently, before dragons, deities were represented as koi fish or something like that, I really don't remember [please refresh my memory, Ronnie!]). I honestly feel flattered by that especially considering that that was the first time I ever drew his dragon fursona (or any dragon for that matter [or, Hell, any species other than a feline, lol]).
Also yes, that is indeed Flow on the left-paw side in her blue tutu. Or should I say... "Jo?"
Lemme spin a yarn for a minute here: when we got to the Swiss Chalet, Flow asked for her reservation in the list to which the staff replied with "none that we're seeing." This gave us a bit of concern, and Flow began to clarify the specifics of when she ordered, how many would be showing up, and where we were supposed to be seated. Eventually, the staff and Flow pinpointed the most likely reservation claimed under the name "Jo." Flow pondered why that'd be the case before she slowly admitted while blushing that maybe it was her doing as she was using her old cell phone at the time of placing the reservation. See, according to Flow, her old cell phone has bad quality and tends to sound muffled most of the time. So when she made the reservation for "Flow," the restaurant misheard it as "Jo." She even went on to say "what!? But I spelled it to you guys and everything!" This, in turn, got all of us laughing, birthing yet another running gag that'll haunt her for years to come in the furry fandom: Flow's real name is Jo, and that's the name of her werewolf fursona (actually I made that last bit up, but I just wanted to tie in another of Flow's apparent running gags with her and
[but you gotta admit that it's got a nice ring to it, eh?])!
In summary, much laughter was shared, and much nomming was had during dinner. The dinner was indeed the icing on the cake to another one of Flow's amazing years fursuiting at the Big Top Circus School.
