Argh, I really didn't mean to miss TWO stream nights this week. I was sick tuesday, and today I had the opportunity to FINALLY upgrade my desk/workstation! ...which took a lot longer than I expected. I spent all afternoon putting things together and moving stuff around, and I'm still not done yet. x_x I'm actually going to move the work surface down so that it spans both sets of shelves. We're also thinking we might cut my drawing table's surface down a bit, because the thing is freaking HUGE and I rarely work larger than 11x14 tops. That means hauling the table saw out of the garage, though, and that sure as hell ain't happening tonight.
Still, got the majority of it set up just in time for HomeCon this weekend! So even though I missed streaming at my normal times, you'll be able to catch me pretty much all weekend. =)

Oh, see, there's a trick to Ikea. =) Look up everything on the website first and print a shopping list. It tells you where all the parts for your stuff are located in the warehouse so you can skip the showroom of never-ending furniture entirely. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. And as assemble-yourself furniture goes, these weren't bad at all to put together. There are only 8 screws in each bookshelf. Everything else just slots together with pegs.
*waves at the desk as if it were a living entity.* Hello desk, was Zannah's day delectable?
On a more serious note I wish we had an IKEA around here. All we have for places to get office furnishings are either cheaply made stuff from WalMart and Target, or small privately owned furniture stores that charge stroke inducing prices. x.x
I looked on IKEA's site a while back and found a lot of awesome looking computer desks on there.

Ahhhh, okay. I've been pass Chicago years ago when I went with my mom to visit my older brother when he used to live in Toledo, Ohio. Before he moved back here that is. We went to Cedar Point amusement park and I believe you have to go by Chicago to get to it. Can't remember for sure, my niece was 1 when we went and she's now 8, so it was 7 years ago. :3
I'm located in the Adirondacks, about 1 hour away from Burlington, Vermont and Montreal, Quebec. That's one thing that totally stinks about this region, it's pretty in the summer but when it comes to places like IKEA they just don't exist around here. Everything is a 30 minute drive to get to because towns are scattered about and any markets that are local are expensive sinced our town is near the Canadian border, so the prices of everything are catered to people from Quebec.
Oh well, not like it's something that can be fixed. :)
