Right, but I believe the issue people are having is that you have taken a comic meant to address one issue (that a lot of teenagers are naive, self-obsessed, and lack a holistic understanding of the magnitude of the world and its problems) and felt it somehow needed to be presented a companion piece of an entirely different issue (that some people have no empathy and are horrible). There is a big difference between a young person living a hard life and a young person who is pampered regularly yet still believes they're oppressed and ignored!
It's not so much an opposite as a separate animal; both points are certainly valid social commentary, but implying that one is the flip-side of the other isn't accurate.
