A commissioned Reference Sheet done for blazewiles.
* This is a new commission type I will be offering shortly in the future, they will be "YCH Here" styled sheets where you can pick and choose from a number of bases/body types and have them customized to your character. You can pick as many or as few as you want, add detail shots, outfits, head shots, flat or shaded colours - so prices will be tiered to allow people with various budgets to be able to get something. I will open for maybe two slots shortly after I finish my current auction pieces, so keep an eye on my journals if you are interested.

This turned out awesome! Definitely a good idea for a commission type! Love the clothing shots especially, and the fluffy tails. Your refs are always the best. :) Did you do this whole thing with your Surface?
One thing I would recommend is either not shading/highlighting refs or including a little color palette or offering two versions of the ref [one with shading and one without]. It's sometimes hard to color pick off sheets with shading because it's hard to tell where the base color is. Sometimes that's a good thing or doesn't matter, but if commissioners are picky about what colors artists use for them [not saying Blaze is], it can cause issues later on. Especially with shades of grey/black [I've seen people complain about artists not using straight black or using a too light shade of grey for their black character].

Thanks! It's a hybrid - I drew the blank body bases traditionally and scanned them in before I had bought the SP2. With the SP2 I drew the hair and clothing entirely. I was frustrated for the first few hours since I was just learning, but in the end it got quicker and easier nd now I really enjoy working with it :)
For the colours I actually have options on my order form for either flat colours or shaded colours, and my client chose shaded for this sheet. I know some people prefer flats, and it also offers a slightly cheaper option. I didn't think of doing the colour swatches though, that might be something I should add.

Oh that's awesome! It blends really well, it's hard to tell the difference between the traditional and digital lines. I remembered you talking about inking the hair digitally but when I looked at all of it, I was like "it all looks the same to me." XD I definitely noticed it getting easier with practice when I started digital stuff, too! Glad you're enjoying it.
Ah, yeah. I know a lot of commissioners will choose shading because it does look better/more finished, but it could make it harder on some of the artists they commission, which I don't think they really realize. Definitely add swatches in the future if it wouldn't be too much trouble. ^^

I saw this on your page while I was thanking BlazeWiles for a watch.
I really like this character and reference sheet, she is very well detailed, has excellent proportional balance, a very interesting color scheme (red and black were always my favorite colors), and definitely has a unique look with a very emotive face.
Definitely this shows a lot of talent in character design and reference sheet creation; I'm surprised this was made by selecting various body type bases and then customizing it from there, as usually those lack variety.
Anyway, excellent work on this reference sheet; it was definitely worth having a closer look and favoring.
