This piece is comprised of leftover bits from 'Veruca Salt Goes to College', which, in the end, I thought didn't quite fit within the piece (as they diluted the focus a bit too much), and which could be stated more succinctly within its framework. Nevertheless, I felt that the ideas represented here were still worth exploring, but within the framework of their own piece.
For starters, I will state right at the outset that this is indeed another didactic screed poem, which exaggerates and embellishes statements and viewpoints in order to get its own point across.
Specifically, it was inspired by an article I read once about how so many women, who are otherwise logical and progressive in almost every way, are nevertheless constantly attracted to some of the worst possible specimens of manhood. Indeed, many women have also decried this fact, such as Sylvia Plath did in her piece 'Daddy'.
Some of the most extreme examples of this being the women, who set out to marry people such as Kenneth Bianchi, Richard Ramírez, and Charlie Manson.
And yes, I know that this phenomenon is not necessarily confined to the female gender, as there are also plenty of men, who are just as guilty. Indeed, were this not the case, things like Rule #3 (i.e., "Don't stick your dick in crazy"), wouldn't need to exist.
