My gosh so many parts of that song make me think of Greg Universe/Rose Quartz/Steven Universe and everything that happened between them. Like the Gems (or at least Pearl) disapproving, 'my lover's got humor', the sacrifice, 'only then I am human', 'let me give you my life', The goddess, 'that sad earthly scene', 'offer me that deathless death' etc etc.

Some of the characters can be really annoying, most of them are very, very flawed. But many of the characters show a lot of growth, especially steven. They prolly warmed up to it because it starts off showing how annoying they can be but eventually delves into the "why" so you find the characters more relatable.
My fav quote in the series is "You work away your life then what does it get you? You get cash. Cash that can’t buy back what the job takes." Some deeply depressed kid says this at one point and I was like "kids show just got deep"

Honestly, it's a show that I feel people can very easily love or hate.
Parts of it are obnoxious, or seem pointless or cheesy. But there are really deep moments and messages. Some of the things that really turned me onto the show are things that I already love to see in movies/shows- like badass awesome mother figures, humor, gemology, personification of items into people (I love assignments of things to people- like elements or animals or gems), good songs, character development/backstories, as well as plot detail over time.
Like- if I hadn't watched them all in the last week on a binge-watch, and instead started from the beginning of the show way back when I might not have followed it. I mean, who knows. But seeing everything develop and come together in those fifty-something ten minute long episodes really convinced me.
The last few episodes are some of my favorites.
But don't get me wrong- you might really not like it! Like I hate a few characters and find them almost annoying enough to not want to watch parts with them in it. Like Connie (a human girl). Lars also kinda pisses me off with his shitty attitude but I know it's just their characters.

It sounds like it might be good, I think after I catch up on a few other shows I may give it a try. Someone actually said the same thing, that it really picks up by the later episodes. Course that can be true with most shows haha.

Oh I know! I saw the music video as well but I liked the fit here with this idea as well u w u (Actually I can't even bring myself to rewatch the video, it made me so sick to be reminded that there are still masses of people who think they can judge another person by their romantic preferences or tell them they shouldn't love or be with someone. And that's not even touching on the fact that violence is often involved- it makes me enraged. People need to get a clue and worry about things that are actually important and need attention B-BUT I'M SORRY FOR THE RANT I JUST COMPLETELY HATE BEHAVIOR LIKE THAT AWE JEEZ LEMME JUST GET OFFA MY SOAP BOX ;A; )

Yeah that's definitely true- sometimes the things that really need to be seen are the hardest things to see, but awareness is the first step to fixing the problem!
I'm just a huge baby and I get so huffy when the world isn't a perfect and safe and comfortable place for everything living on it. I resent abuse more than anything because causing another being/animal to suffer is inexcusable and askdfjs;f OH MAN I DID THE RANT THING AGAIN SHEESH SORRY FFF ;A;
