I finished this piece late last night (I'm paying for it this morning as I get ready for work =n= this is what I get for staying up too late) I have to arrange the video still of the progress for this piece, so I'll have a time-lapse video for it as I really like doing those LoL and sharing with others the way that I paint digitally.

This is Astophe, one of my many many OC's I have created over the years. He's one of the few that hasn't really changed much if any conceptually from the time he was thought up. No one, even Astophe, really knows what he is. It's believed he is some sort of Oni (demon) as his face is humanlike with a felid nose and ears. But his lips and mouth are very humanoid and function just fine when producing speech. He has a human form as well, and he is just as much a tank of a man as he is a beast. (if I could draw humans worth crap I'd draw his human form too *sigh* Funny how most artists prefer one or the other, humans or animals)

A little about Astophe and his story:
Astophe was found in a dumpster when he was a small babe by Tezaryn Starr, a airship Pirate who fought for the freedom of others in the blackmarket and illegal trades all across the world. He pulled the crying child from the dumpster, the man just barely an adult himself, and raised Astophe as his own. Astophe grew at a quick rate, and in his teens, the haunch of his large shoulders was level if not a little surpassing the tall man that was Tezaryn's shoulders and head. His head is quite solid and those horns seemingly unbreakable, he's been known to ram down gates and doors, even through walls, to help Tezaryn get where it is needed to rescue those in need of freeing. His claws are dull as are his teeth. But get on his bad side, and its definitely not his claws or teeth you should worry about. It's his sheer strength. Astophe is married to lovely little woman named Ailie and father to three children. One of which is by blood. The other two, Mynk and Nanda are adopted.

Astophe is Tezaryn's right hand man, his second in command when it comes to their fleet of airships. If Tezaryn isn't at the helm, Astophe is. His voice perfectly capable of carrying over the wind and barking orders to the crew to keep Her flying straight and true. His ship is second to largest in the fleet if you don't include the Hospital Ward. His ship is named The Glory, and the poor vessel has had it's hardships including a fire, and worse still, negligence from someone Astophe thought he could trust, the man nearly drove Her and everyone on it into the ground. He should count his lucky stars Astophe didn't just throw him overboard.

He may look big, frightening and down right...evil...but get to know him...and the man's a big softie who loves to hear the laughter of children, and hold babies. Astophe Ord Starr, one of my favorite OC's of all time (I say that a lot, I love all my OC's)
