Yeah yeah, I expect flak for this one.
But how about you step back and take it for what it is, just a quick little joke.
Sometimes we look at those numbers and see that as something incredible. But is it really? What is the value of a watch if they are just lurkers? People that just throw money at you? Like you only for your art?
I have nearly 2,000, but it only means so much to me. I apreciate them all, really I do. But I post journals and get few responses. I desperately ask for comments and get little. But, amongst those 2,000 I do have many friends, and I apreciate them. I can't even really name them all as there are quite a bit of them.
So take this comic as you wish. I am not really meaning anything negative towards anyone, it's just a quick thing as recently my friend
mrblah got his 111th watcher, and I wanted to do something in relation to it.

Congrats to mrblah!!! 8D 8looks a littel sad* I must admit that it has been an eternity since I last send hm a message. <=( I hope hes doing alright. <=(
But yeah, I totally agree with you there. ^^ I mean: Even though you might have hundreds maybe thousands of watchers, Just because they watch you, doesn't mean they are your friends. ^^ heck, most people are lucky if from a 100 watchers 2 or 3 would be your friend. And maybe not even friends for life or true friends who would stand by you through thick and thin. <=(
It is sad to hear that, but it is true. <=0 That's why I always dislike it when people boast about having so many pageviews or watchers, and counting them all as their friends. While most of the time not even a 1000th of of a percent is their actual friend. <=0

*nods* I will do that soon. ^^ I'm about to go to bed atm, so yeah. x3; But thanks for telling me. ^^ <3 It's hard to keep up-to-date with friends and acquaintances when your rl is so busy. >.=.<;;
And yeah, I agree completely. <=3 Though having people take the time to comment AND to send a note. People looking at your journals and responding in concern and being happy when troubles irl would be getting better. Standing by you when things are tough, etc. THAT is what a true friend does right? <=3

Personally, I don't have my furaffinity as an outlet for making friends. Its great if I do get some, and a few people on here (like
bhawkes I do consider to be good friends of mine. Mostly this is just a way for me to share my art though, and get feedback on it. I'm not an incredibly social person, but I like showing my art, so I think it works. DeviantART, Furaffinity, Tumblr, I have them all just to display my art and attract other people that like it and the same things I like. I want to improve artistically, so its a good way to go about doing it I think.
I have my facebook for friends, but outside of that I just post art and ask for opinions on it. ;v; It's not that I don't value people enough to consider a friendship with them, I just don't actively seek out making new friends.

I don't even bother looking at pageview counts or watcher counts most of the time, not even my own.
I also tend to not comment much due to not really having anything constructive to add, or anything that hasn't already been said by someone else on the particular piece. (Or I'm browsing when I should be sleeping and can't formulate something coherent...)

Yea, I usually like to put down something more substantial than "Cool!" or similar comments. If someone is taking the time and to click and read my comment, I want there to be something worthwhile behind the "frost750 has left a comment on X" link instead of the equivalent of a typed version of a thumbs-up.
