I always chose Cyndaquil (though have lately been choosing Totodile when I do SoulSilver runthroughs for fun. Honestly, There isn't a Starter I don't like for Johto.), so Silver always had Totodile's line for me. I feel like Silver is more misunderstood than anything.

Aren't all the Rivals a Jerk.
Gary/Blue/Green is a punk that uses Bubble when you send your Chamander out (listened to Natewantstobattle on Youtube too much).
Silver was always the mean one that stole his Pokemon.
May/Brendan was really just a Professor's assistant.
Wally was awesome actually, the little asthmatic boy who overcame his weakness. (love his theme in ORAS)
Barry was just crazy and needed a Fine slapped on his mouth.
Cheren was alright, a good smart rival.
Bianca was too airheaded to be a rival to me.
Hugh was too bent on revenge against Team Plasma for me to consider him a rival.
Serena/Calem was okay I suppose.
Tierno needs to get off the dance floor.
Shauna should've been a coordinator.
Trevor was too geeky.

Hmm... I think I covered them all. I guess only a few was really only a jerk.

yeah character wise i dont care for to many of them but design wise i love a lot of them
Hugh and Barry are perf examples. They are annoying, but i love thier designs

i honestly cant stand all the rivals in x and y though (minus trevor, im a sucker for adorable little kids but i wanted to battle his wayyy more then we got the chance too)

Agreed. Brendan was always so confusing. I was shocked when I first learned it wasn't his hair.
