I'd initially done them with 'suspenders' but the fur where they attached was getting a bit stretched, so I decided to change that.

I'm running a length of nylon strap around the waist as reinforcement, studded here and there with tabs of velcro. These will wrap around my heavy leather belt, which I need to wear for the tail. (the tail is held up with a derlin rod and needs to clamp over something pretty solid)

I considered just building a belt in, but that would make them harder to wash. Initally I was going to use loops of nylon strap to run the belt through (like the loops on jeans, just on the inside) but I figured using velcro would give it a way to tear loose if I do something stupid without taking damage. We'll see. :)
