So, if anyone were confused, Leo is Adale's slave. Not the kind used for hard labor, but one she keeps around to show off like a status of wealth. He's an almost instinct specie and therefore highly valuable. But he does not have a lot of rights, if any. He is highly intelligent and always thinks twice before talking... even before he was caught and sold on a slave market. Usually anyway.
