I'm happy you like him too, I have way more of him sketched (including vore lol) so there'll be no shortage of this fabulous noodle anytime soon.

*nods* I've ended up growing fond of one-time characters before as well, turning them into official ones after a while because I grew attached to them or their design x3

...if there's one thing you can be certain about on this website, it's that you CAN'T be certain on somebody's gender from merely looking at their face...

...sometimes even looking at their groin doesn't work either...

But seriously, I like these expressions! A good few of 'em made me chuckle, but bottom middle is probably my favourite. The mixture of musical notes and the gesture is pretty great.

Yeah Ryuu's a pretty big genderfuck, for lack of a better word. I imagine many people who end up taken to his lair or happen to meet him are PRETTY SURE he's female (his sleek feminine features and blue and pink colours probably don't help...) but then there are other things that'd confuse them further and make them think he is a guy, leaving them possibly the most confused they've ever been haha.

It's all in good fun though and I love working with him. I also bet he gets a good laugh from seeing so many people wondering what he is ;)

...makes me wonder if confused 'prey' is more fun, too. Maybe he strikes in the moment of confusion?

The way I imagine it is so specific I can’t give precise examples, but just imagine Whoophi Goldberg’s voice but slightly higher and smoother in tone and that’s Ryuu’s voice. It would fit his sassy and diva-like personality, yet also matches his soft and gentle side too.
As for his accent I’m not sure, probably British like myself and many of my other characters, though perhaps with a slight ‘American twang’ to it.

I think this is a really interesting piece! Just goes to show how expressive (in more than one sense in this case) a piece can be when it's decided that no colour is to be used. I think it helps bring out Ryuu's expressions more too. They're very clear and they define the piece. With the range of emotions you can express through Ryuu, it's no wonder you enjoy drawing him so much. One can just look through your gallery to see how he seems to naturally adapt to any scenario and provide the expression to go with it. Seeing a collection of his facial expressions really is fascinating and is extremely good practice. I say this is a great success and I'm very happy you left it without colour.

Onto the difficult question of which face is my favourite... Too tough to call, haha. Although I'd not want him singing about eating me. I don't think I'd taste too good. Quite bitter, I'd imagine. Bottom right is really intriguing. It almost seems out of character, seeing Ryuu look so taken aback/apologetic/cutesy-wutesy. To very good effect though, I must say. Top left is typical Ryuu I'd say, all magnificent and full of confidence. Top middle is the face I'd want him to make if he met me! XD

Enough rambling, I really like this a lot, seeing all these sides of Ryuu. It might be nice seeing similar pieces for your other characters too!

That singing one definitely! His expressions and personality remind a lot of Kaa from the Jungle Book. Ryuu certainly seems just as charming. 83

I'm a big fan of top left, top middle, and bottom middle. The top two show a lot of expression and make good use of his large lower lip. The bottom one, well...that's pretty easy to guess. <3

You may have POSSIBLY guessed that Ryuu absolutely loves kissing and making out so if you find his lip that appealing he'd be more than happy to smooch for days on end! He certainly doesn't know when to stop - but he doesn't see why he should either ;)

Thanks a lot, expressions have always been really fun for me and I think I've gotten better with them and angles. It does help that the dragon here looks gorgeous from any angle but still ;)

I like all of these face equally when it comes to visual style, but the concept of the bottom middle is too amusing to not love, whether one is into vore or not! I can seriously imagine this guy in and animated movie as the charismatic villain that likes to eat people. Nicely done!

I agree, it's like Ryuu is just MADE for an animated film especially with his teasing musical vore songs - he's actually meant to be a 'good guy' but the whole eating people thing sure makes you think otherwise!

Maybe he could be an anti-hero. I'd watch that movie!
