Kill Like An Egyptian 2
A bit of a closeup on Ahkenaten's helmet and symbols. I actually had an internal debate over what primary color I'd be using for these guys. They're Tzeentchian, and they're maybe supposed to be an offshoot of the Thousand Sons, but I didn't know if I should make them blue or red, and I'm glad I went with red.

Its nice to see more tzeench players. I have been slowly building my Ahriman force of his great banished library ships of devoratores scientiam.
I have taken the idea of him traveling the universe stealing every book of power and every corrupt scroll he can lay hands on carrying them on his tanks and chained to his sorcerers and warriors as his insatiable desire for understanding pushes him forever to the next book.
My land raiders have stacks of books and pinky horror scribes endlessly tallying every new tomb and bit of understanding.

Oh yeah, I love Tzeentch x3 My daemons and primary CSM forces are all Tzeentchian, and I'm fine with adding a third to my retinue. That's also an interesting thing to do with a land-raider. I've got a bunch of burning chariot parts laying around, plus some Grey Knights ornaments, so that might be something I try out.
I'm a bit of an obsessive modifier.. I have 2 sets of spirit hoasts from the vampire count war engine that I want to replace the land raider tracks with.. I have been cutting out skeletal bits and greenstuff tacking in the screaming faces and beaks of pinky horrors on the figures.

The hope is to get the tanks to look like there being pulled by horrific displays of unmatched sorcery.
I used a lot of reeper range for the books along with 3 sets of these.

I like winning x3 I'm fine with losing so long as there's a good reason for my losing, but I can't handle feeling cheated out of victory. I actually threw quite a hissy fit when the new necron codex came out and my then-undefeated Sisters lost their first match because it's just impossible to kill the bastards anymore :I Though, my mood did level out when my opponents stopped using Decurions...
I have heard about these... I thankfully have not had to fight one yet. But the sillyness of GW codexs anymore keeps my main joys of gaming in Warmachine/ Hordes. I am interested to see whats becoming of fantasy and will still keep at 40k since I have... 8 armies? geez x.x But Meta is just no fun to get ground up by.
It was actually kind of goofy x3 After about three games, I finally said to my friend "I'm no longer playing games against Decurion necrons". He told me to quit bitching about it, and that I should be able to lose with dignity because of how often I utterly trounced him with Sisters or IG or daemons or whatever. My response was a resounding "EXACTLY, you don't think it's weird that that kind of pedigree is not only losing to you, but failing to kill more than one unit per game despite your lists and tactics going completely unchanged?"
I'll admit that was kind of a dickish response, but it got through to him on at least some level :I I don't gotta' play against decurions anymore :V

Well thats very true. My old IG list was undefeated but I at least tried to play them different every time and even would do off the wall things to see if my opponent would leap at the openings I'd leave etc. I like to loose, if I never loose than I never learn how to get better. But from what I'm hearing is possible with GW now is just a brutal chainsaw-dildo that no matter what you have or how well you play you will just always loose. And that's not enjoyable.
Yeah, the last game in the Decurion saga was was really put me over the egde x3 I was playing Sisters again, and I was trying a tweaked new list. I exploited huuuuuuuuuuuuge holes in their defenses, pushed them back, feinted, flanked, really pulled out the tactical big-guns, but I still lost miserably and only managed to kill two units of flayed ones while a decurion Obyron-Zandrekh-Destroyer-Lord-Orikan-Lychguard deathstar completely steamrolled over my entire army. Getting one casualty out of well over a hundred shots in a turn was enough to make me ACTUALLY hate the game for a couple days.
I've built up the army since I posted this guy x3 Got maybe...1500 points of Egyptian stuff? I'm almost done with my terminator squad, I've assembled some Egyptian obliterators, Ahriman (for my ACTUAL Thousand Sons), ten CSM, 20 cultists, five flamer havocs (Tzeentch likes fire), and then a conjuration daemon prince made from a statue of Ra, and a special lord/sorceror suffering from the flesh change.
I think that the back story will be that this sect of the Thousand Sons (I think I'll be calling them the Riftwalkers), with their story being that they're a misguided group of sorcerors who are trying to restore the legion by building on Magnus' gene-seed, instead of curing the flesh-change after the fact/reversing the Rubric of Ahriman. So they've got a bunch of Rubric soldiers, but this also gives me an excuse to use chaos spawn, oblits/muties, and lords with an Egyptian theme.
