My mutts.
I make them pose for pictures thinking I'm clever.
Rud doesn't mind. He imagines being told where and how
to sit is a fun game, followed by endless bounding, snacks,
fetch, swimming, bird chasing and tons of snuggles.
Magnolia quietly thinks of new ways to kill me while I sleep.
I am endlessly impressed by the differences in personality and
outlook displayed by our canine companions. It speaks of a hidden
intelligence and depth that we forget exists.
I hope Magnolia forgets about this pic...

Its not even just our canine companions with huge personalitys either!
I've had cats that were brilliant and played fetch! Cats who were lazy and wanted nothing more than to sunbathe. Cats who knew when i was sad and needed a little cuddle.
I've even found that pet rats have amazingly varying personalitys. Some loved to be held and cuddled and fed ramen noodles by hand. Some were sneaky and broke out of the cage to romp around the room. Some were cage-agressive but enjoyed being held once you let them come out on their own.
I think we greatly underestimate the varying personalitys of species besides our own. When really while we're able to vocally express our varying personalitys, our animal friends can be just as different as us, we just have to observe them more carefully and then we start to notice how different they are from eachother.

                    Yes, well said!
I've had cats and rats and all kinds of other critters, and each one was unique
in his or her own way and taught me much about myself.
We should always pay attention to these differing personalities, as
we should in our human peers also.
Each one is valuable!

Bribe them with treats and they tend to forget...
Oh some good news we have a new dog... another Alaskan Malamute that we are rescuing. We knew she was neglected and last night we found out she was likely abused as well. Last night I went to rub her with my foot and she bolted like she was hit with a cattle prod... Time and patience is what it's going to take... She is submissive and very sweet.

Corgi-Like Product. So cute. So deadly.
My little pupper mutter Cami (100% Certified American Thoroughbred) is terrified of the camera. I think she's convinced that the shiny black thing is, like the dishwasher and plastic bags (don't ask) connected with the disappearance of a number of dogs in the neighborhood.

She's our shy little Omega dog, but our two bigger boys realize she's smarter than they are and follow her lead.
