Free verse. I'm not a big fan of free verse. Without a formal structure, it's hard to make free verse read like verse, or at least consistently read like verse.

So, I wrestled with this one over and over trying to get it to succumb to rhyme and meter, but it obstinately refused. There are phrases that I just couldn't re-structure without disemboweling them of their intended meaning.

In the wrestling, it went from trying to meet the FA Writers prompt's mission to describe a natural sight .... to something broader and more cosmological. So, I've also failed to strictly meet the prompt's requirement.

Thus, I give you this somewhat failed answer to the prompt with a poor attempt at that most difficult and admirable art: quality free verse. I hope you eek some enjoyment from it nonetheless.
