A portrait for a beloved feline full of life and character, furbaby to Feren. Ra was a rescued cat from the "Stray Halfway House". From browsing through a big album of pictures he seemed playful and silly, and oh so cuddly. He was black with an amusing white "censor patch" on his lower belly. A little bare spot on his nose was a mark from a former life. He was the light of his human friends' life.
Ra has sadly passed but he'll never be forgotten. It was such a joy to look through his photos and paint his portrait to accompany his urn. I hope his portrait has captured some of his spirit and will forever be a reminder of what a special furbaby he was. All hail the almighty Ra! :3

:D Yep I use a paintbrush, it's a really thin one called a script liner or #0. A #1 works too. I paint every little hair one at a time (and many times over, as I paint all the hairs once in each color I use.) For Ra I've used about 5-6 different colors just for the black fur. ^_^'
I've already stumbled over myself thanking you in email, but I'll do it again here as well. This is a beautiful tribute to my silly, handsome boy. From his censor patch to the bell on his collar to the shine in his eyes, you captured it all. He'll be watching over the house from a vantage point befitting his larger-than-life personality, I promise. What is even more wonderful to me is that, with this painting, you inspired
blackfrost who also has memorialized my boy with this kind gift.
I never thought my little guy would ... could ... touch so many people beyond me, but... here I see just how powerful his love really could be.
Thank you, everyone.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go wipe a flood of tears from my face.
