ANZAC DAY
LEST WE FORGET
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
The 25th of April each year is when we commemorate the day that the soldiers of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corp (the ANZACs) landed on the beach at Gallipoli in 1915. Over 8,000 Australian soldiers were killed in the eight month campaign that followed.
On ANZAC Day we remember not only those lives lost at Gallipoli, but all of the lives of the men and women who have served and fought for the protection of our great country and its allies.
