n__n hi! this is a pic I did 3 days ago, I wanted to do a fairy because
abluedeer and I saw a stand with a lot of beautiful fairies the other day we were at a mall and I also wanted to practice a bit more the light souce =P jejejejje
I personally loved the pose and also how the coloring came out *w* and eventhough I dont like green in clothes, this time it suited perfectly the pic's theme X3. Hope youlike it
Done with Prismacolor and Faber Castell colors and also pastels for the background.
Note: this is an example of my color commissions, for anyone that might be interested n____n you can check out the link to the journal on my header's =P

Another wonderful advance with your coloring skills my beloved *kisses* This image is simply gorgeous and all the colors are alive and balanced n__n
I particulary love the way you shaded the folds on her dress, you started to have a good feel of lights and shadows. Only i see her face a little furry-like, but that probably is because you've been drawing only furries recently =P
I can only think this is your new best pencil colored image so far, and i guess you deserve another huge hug and a lot of extra cuddling n////////n Congratulations my beloved one *huge kiss*

Thanks darling n///n you are always cheering me up.I know her face looks weird, Im bad at human faces as you saw this weekend ^^u but I will be practicing more so I can improve more n__n. Thanks for your sweet comment my love, I really like to see written everything you say so tenderly to me always *kiss kiss*
This is an exqusite and beautiful pic Shana, the details are fabulous, and the effects are stunning. =+D
Now here is the part where yer gonna hate me... =+{
Actually I won't say it yet, let's see if you can see what I see. This way you may question the position of a light source when coloring. =+}
Now, look at the shining highlights you have given to the wings, then look at the shadows cast on her clothing and the tree. Where is the light source and why is it a bit opposite of the shading?
I'm not trying to be mean, as I have said, this is a hands down gorgous pic but I will always endeaor to aid you in propper technique. =+S

Dont worry, I wont hate you n__n I know that you are always trying to help me in improving my style. I know that I have some mistakes again in the source light, I was trying to place the light source from the down right side of the pic (seeing as it is right now) but I still have some problems with the correct shading with the light ^^u nyaa. Thanks for the cheers on my pic n_n and also the clue on the lightning source =P just tell me if I got right what you were aiming at
You are indeed correct. The shading on her and the tree are dead on correct. =+}
Now, the wings are a bit difficult for me to read, since their angle is being adjusted by the angle of the tree limb she sits on and her own body posture it seems. Also, there seems to be some sort of deflection in her posture that causes the size (most foreground vs. most background) of her wings, leading me to believe that the (as seen here) left wing is angled more behind her so the shiny area there would be more towards the body. The right wing is more foreground and nearly flat dimensionally to the viewer, so the shiny area would be more away from her body, to where the wing tips are more highlighted. =+}
I'll be honest with ya, shading propperly and adjusting for light source has always been a pain in my @$$. =+P
Hope that is detailed enough explanation for ya, if not just holler and I'll bring a corpse along for a snack. =+D

mmhh o.o yeah you are right.... ;___; I inverted the lights in the wings... I really need to practice more with the light, and yeah its a real pain - . - Idont know how my boyfriend make the lightning seem so damn easy on his pics...but well n__n thanks again for the help sweetie, and thanks for the corpse offering ^^u just had meal, so if you like, you can eat my part on my behalf jejejej =P
Realize this, wings are really hard since their position can easily be very different from the angle of the entity they are attached to, so don't beat yerself up over that. I also can not reccommend enough the value of those metallic nudes I told you about, the lighting differential is indeed exponential and a valuable source of refference. Heh, if yer worried about the anatomy issue, I'm still grappling with forcing myself to draw male parts. =+}
As for yer boyfriend, he is what I call a visualist (not sure if that is an actual term), BD has mentally archived real world physical effects of light, shadowing, texture... well heck you name it! Whether by purpose or not, he could probably tell you what something feels like in one of his works. =+O
Not gonna eat yers? Kewl! Double road kill buzzards for me. =+D

*Buuurp!!!*
Oh so tasty. =+D
Corpses are great on an empty stomach. =+P
Uh.. Oh yeah, lighting! =+}
Make sure ya ask him about "attatchments" to the target source, as they are not as predictable in their posture and light receiving properties. =+}
Ya'll are awesome artists and I'm very humbled to be trying to give advice to you. I wish the both of you the best. =+D

Very nice!
I love the coloring in this. The sheen on the wings and hair is amazing, and the folds of the dress came out very good.
I like the design of the dress too and the pattern looks great.
Her face looks a bit wide and flat, but that might just be her species. ;)
The tattoos are cool as well. :)
