Description: Bulbasaur are reptillian pokémon. They are born from eggs in nests of five to twelve Bulbasaur. During pregnancy de plant on the mother's back releases seeds that are sealed in with the embryo's inside the egg. Once the eggs are laid, the seed attaches to the back of the embryo. The seed provides nutrients for the young Bulbasaur that are needed for their development. In return, the Bulba-plant (thus named by professor S. Oak) takes nutrients from the pokémons blood that it doesn't need itself. Also, the plant gets some protection against being eaten and gets plenty of sunlight by the Bulbasaur's sunbathing. There have been known cases where the plant attached to the wrong place on the embryo, such as the stomach or head. These monstrosities rarely survive longer than a few days. There are many theories about the origin of this symbiosis. One of these, is that Bulba-plants used to attach their seeds to the soft shell of Bulbasaur-eggs, where they rooted. Sometimes, the roots would grow into the Bulbasaur and the pokémon would carry the plant around unintentionally. There are sientists who claim that the plant shows animal behaviour, such as intentional movement (as opposed to flesh eating plants, that react only in simple reflex). They claim the plant has an influence on the brain of the Bulbasaur, but as of yet this theory is unproven. The two flaps on Bulbasaur's head, which used t be mistaken for ears, are meant to loose excess heat. When asleep, the Bulbasaur presses the head against its body, causing the skin around it's neck to form an unusual collar. This has lead to many illustrations of Bulbasaur with a disproportional large head. Because the plant on its back is very heavy, Bulbasaur can't run very fast en relies on camouflage as a protection against predators. When discovered, it shows the blue spots on its body and the bright red inside of its mouth, to indicate it is poisonous. This toxin, which isn't very strong, is made by the Bulba-plant and has a paralyxing effect. It protects Bulbasaur against smaller predators, but larger enemies like Fearow are unintimidated by it. These large birds have learned to thrust their long beaks right into the heart of the plant, severing the Bulbasaurs spine. Bulbasaur have sharp claws that can be used in defense when necessary, but they will rarely initiate agressive behaviour. Contrary to other lizards, Bulbasaur have hardly any tail. A Bulbasaur's diet mostly consists of small insects, but they occassionally eat prey as large as Caterpie.
This is just stuff I make up because I like to.
