Anthro New England 2015: Bonus Material 1: Plushies for Sale
In January of 2009, I attended my first Arisia, New England's Largest and most diverse science fiction and fantasy convention. and that year's Arisia was held at the very same Hyatt that hosted the very first Anthro New England. It was at Arisia 2012 that I came across a vendor that was selling oodles of plushies. It was after striking up a conversation with one of the owners that I was able to learn about FurFright, and, later that year, I was able to attend my very first Furcon (Furfright 2009).
At Anthro New England 2015 (ANE) I purchased the last of all four of the skunk plushies
that Dragon's Lair had brought with them (Observe in this photo that all four where still the shelf when this photo was taken). I was excited to think that there might be three other skunks at ANE and was looking forward to meeting them. I was able to discover the identity of two of the skunks. The first, was the girl who purchased the larger one, on the left. If I recall, I think she said she was a mix of fursonas, or didn't really have one. The second was definitely not a skunk: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16374815/

By the way, I did meet, and befriend one other skunk, that was there. I was able to discover him, because he purchased the extra-floofy, mega skunk tail, from another vendor, that I adored! ^!^

Yeah lol... :) I figured that was probably the case, so I entertained 'em. Overall when people in general are very in-your-face with their sales pitch I get turned off. ^.^* I can understand it from a retail and from a business perspective, so I try to be good about it rofl. And in fact I probably would have gotten a panther plushie, but was trying not to spend the extra money (and had already gone way overbudget). X3
Dragon's Lair is who I bought my yellow lab puppet (Carry) from back in 1999 or 2000 down at Shore Leave in Maryland.
I've since seen Dragon's Lair at nearly every con I've been to since. And I always have Carry with me.
15+ years. They seem to have gotten a bit more forceful in their salespitch, but it could be simply that they are getting ready to retire and aren't quite sure if their kids are really ready to take over the business.
