War's body is nearly done just need to finish off his hands and feet then i can concentrate on his armor and many MANY weapons.
as War's body is made of cursed molten rock held in check by his will, all his weapons and armors quickly degrade not just from the heat of his body but the destructive nature of the curse itself.
even the toughest enchantments on the strongest materials with the highest of melting points quickly degrade burn and or melt in his grasp
the only exception to this is anything made from dragon pelts or bones, but since War single handed defeated the dragoness empress (who was also FAR more powerful that he) all dragons have taken to avoid him regardless of power
"the man who's blood is of fire and skin of stone, all dragons flee in fear"
to date, no dragon that has ever stood his ground against War has EVER survived

hmm i never really thought of shape shifting until now.
though i would have to say no. the cracks in his body are caused by his heat and movement and is pretty much the same as when you split your lip due to it being dry and chapped only much worse. he is constantly in pain and only gets some relief when he baths in freezing water (and a LOT of it because he flash boils a lot away) cooling his skin into a solid rock so long as he does not move. when he does move again it reopens all his cracks and is very painful
is inspiration was originally taken from the balrog in lord of the rings and chaos warrior of Khorn
