For once Westersloe seems to have a points victory on the verbal sparring... of course the Wolf Queen was operating under less than optimal cogitative conditions.
I remember the discussions a friend and I had about this type of situation... we debated if you'd rather be conquered by a vicious force/dictatorship or by a 'benevolent' colonising force. We decided that a vicious force would generally be better over the long term as you'd usually have a chance after time to rebel and retain your culture as that type of force often fails to last whereas 'benevolent' colonisers are much better at 'homogenising' cultures through kind meaning actions and tend to hang onto their territory longer.

The ominousness of the last episode clearly carries over into this one. WWV's advice is sound…one can't have a half cocked winged wolfess creating havoc without a sound plan. I loved the war of words between the two of them.
Can WWV report back to his superiors on the situation while leaving out the diamonds (elves don't lie)?

Omission is feasible. He's done it before - recall that he has NEVER told any of the other Bearers, senior officers, or royalty about Windimere, his own fawns, or his mate. He doesn't need to report the diamond mine, and as long as he sticks to 'armed with spears' without detailing what the spearheads are made of... who would assume that primitive natives are running around with magically shaped diamond-head weapons and tools?
Fairy-magicked diamond is apparently more durable than the regular stuff, btw. The stuff is hard, but actually fragile irl when struck at the right angle.
