maxine's mom and stepdad, chad

pucca (43) is very gentle and kind and she has a real love for everything around her, she's extremely optimistic and chipper. she will do absolutely anything in her power to protect her daughter no matter what, which is part of the reason why she is in no rush to have maxine move out on her own. she owns a small flower shop in town.

chad (42) is pucca's husband, after her first marriage to max's biological father ended badly in divorce. he is a lawyer and he's usually very stern and confident; when he's around pucca however, he is very flustered and turns into a jittery nervous teenage boy around his crush. this has always been the case, even though the couple has been married for 21 years now. he is deeply in love with pucca and tells her everyday.

they met outside of pucca's flower shop and he came back every day for a month to buy flowers (even tho he's allergic) just so he could talk to her and eventually the two began to date and got married, he didn't mind that pucca was pregnant with maxine at the time. chad is the only father maxine has ever known.

ALSO, chad has a 22 year old daughter who attends the same college as maxine, she has her own apartment. her mother has had full custody of her all her life so she never lived with pucca, chad, and maxine; although she would come around when chad had visitation. she and maxine aren't very close though they are cordial.
