"Some museum's artifacts are best left untouched."
Those were the words his father had told him long ago. All he had done was pick up one of the dusty bins of uncategorized and unmarked items in the St. Andrews Museum archives. No one would notice they were gone, no one would know if they had or hadn't any real value. All he wanted was the chance to find a quick buyer online, and pay his rent for another month or two. If he was lucky, he might even have scored something a bit... bigger... but now...
...now this was just plain too big.
He knew this was his fault. His... Genie. There was a flash of light somewhere. It was all happening so fast, but the roof was gone. He was flat on his back and a massive storm was electrocuting the city... but above that was just... a ceiling of seething yellow electricity that was coalescing... forming... a giant... rodent?
YOU HAVE RELEASED ME, MASTER. FORGIVE MY... MASTER? WHERE ARE YOU? WHAT IS THIS PLACE?
He blinked. The... genie... crushed another huge swath of the city as he shifted his weight and crouched down to search through the skyline. Lightning seemed to roil constantly from his fur and caused massive thunderclaps. He didn't even seem to notice or care as he effortlessly leveled most of the city as he scanned for something... Him.
Their eyes met.
HUH. YOU'RE MUCH SMALLER THAN MY LAST MASTER...
