The wings I have are basically experimental prototypes, works in progress, and post-FE2015 was the first time I actually was able to see how well the initial design worked when I was in suit, thanks to the many awesome photographers out there who linked me to their pictures.
To put it mildly, there was a lot of room for improvement. A lot. So I decided to dismantle my wings almost completely, and rebuild them from the feathers up.
New harness, new gloves, new finger loops, new fur covers, experimental magnet placements with stronger magnets, stronger monofilaments with experimental feather "weave" and re-done feather spacing, nylon thread reinforcement for critical points on the gloves and finger loops, new shafts for the load-bearing first primaries, new reels, new reel-buckle attachments, integrating the harness into the suit so everything is easier to take on and off...
It's taking me thrice longer to refine my wings than it originally took to build it, feh. And I'm almost certain nobody will notice the difference except me XD but I guess some birds can be just so very fastidious about their flight feathers. After all, they're about the most important parts of us - we fly with them!
