Clearly King Myr (AKA King Goldenbutt) does not approve of FA's new advertising shenanigans. First they told us the IMVU sellout was a secret for months. Then they told us independent control would not be surrendered. Then they told us FA staff was instructed by IMVU to place obtrusive ads of creepy, uncanny valley-inducing, IMVU avatars so big that they dwarf our artwork. Know what's next? Full screen overlays. It's coming, just you wait! Think this is a joke? Think again in 2 months! Clearly King Myr is NOT amused.

I haven't been running an adblocker on FA for well over a year now. The ads they show here tend to be focused on furry interests so I let them be. However, with the intrusive IMVU ads that all changes. Turn that adblocker back on! Well, for a bit at least! I noticed the IMVU ads were being served up by Google so they're going to be pissed about it once they detect it in a few days.
Nope, not currently happening! However, I'm not seeing the sidebar ad anymore even with ublock off. I have a feeling they'll revert the sidebar change due to user backlash, then implement the overlay ads. I'm sure it'll be quite similar to how the local newspaper does their annoying overlay ads.
I wonder what would happen if IMVU bails on FA? Would they sell the site again or would they just shut it down to sit on the name? *sighs*
I used to really love this place. It seems like a hub for furry activity. It's so antiquated, neglected, and drama-filled that I find myself using Twitter most of the time now.
