Thanks! I started getting into poetry when I was five. I had a ton of little golden books and my aunt used to write little poems as clues in Halloween scavenger hunts. I also listened to a lot of hip hop and rap growing up and that had a lot to do with it, too. Mostly I have Shel Silverstein and Dr. Seuss to thank for my love of the form.

When I was younger I went to school and took a children's lit class. At that point I was thinking about getting into the field. I did pretty well too but school and I don't mix. I plan on doing a 'Where the Sidewalk Ends'-style book of poetry with artwork.

You're a good poet. I say pursue it. You would do well. You've got a good feel for flow which so many writers lack

Thanks again-that means a lot. As far as ability you gotta start somewhere. Start simple and don't worry too much about rhyming. Poetry isn't all rhymes. There's free verse, too. It's all about putting your heart into it the form doesn't really matter.
