Actual commission, areplica of the Börmerkoog swordsax, exposed in the Danevirke Museum Schleswig Holstein (Germany): http://www.danevirkemuseum.de
Here the blade after normalising direct before quenching, you can see the complexity of this blad, i'm very happy with the result after forging. The hardening and tempering worked great, no problems at all, so next step is polishing, i hate polishing -.-
Bladelength: 780mm
Bladewidth: 50mm
Torsions: 33 layers of 15Ni20, C45W and mildsteel
Edge: 525 layers of 15Ni20, 1-2842, CK80 and CK70
Porn in steel :-D

Very nice indeed.
For me, grinding the bevel is the most tedious part of making a blade.
Polishing isn't so bad.
Sanding is the dirtiest part. I always get grit into everything... I taste metal for days after a sanding session, even with a good, industrial strength breath mask.
