Considering their just fictional weapons and were made that way to give them a more iconic appearance, I'm going to have to disagree with you on that. I'll be damned if I'm going to engage in combat against somebody with giant key in tow, but at least they have a sort of appeal to it.
Well that's the thing: These are supposed to be extremely powerful weapons, but they are completely impractical! I just can't take them seriously when a properly trained warrior would never choose them, and that just destroys any appeal they might have for me.
Sure, they have some iconic status and whatnot, but my point still stands... They're ridiculous! XD

But what you clearly fail to understand is that it's just FICTION -- yes, the weapons are ridiculous-looking and impractical in real life. But the thing is you're not supposed to apply it to real life physics. That's the point -- no, the BEAUTY -- of imagination, that you can think outside the box, take countless liberties, and do whatever you want to do.
