You do know the legend behind Muramasa swords, don't you? How Sengo Muramasa had a bloodlust so great, it was passed on his swords and how once one is drawn, it can't be sheathed unless it's drawn blood?

Yes.
I also know that his school of swordmaking lasted about 200 years. And that his swords are often contrasted against Masamune's in Japanese culture.

Additionally, I know I was asked to draw an image of a character holding one, so I did :3

That's the idea as to why his blade is a blade forged in that technique: he carries the blade to deny it that thirst, and only uses it when his hand is forced. Sorta to symbolize an attempt to "control the inner demons", like everyone does to control their own
